Have a safe summer
It is now summer time. It’s hot and dry and people want to burn in their back yards to get rid of their leaves and branches or clear a wooded lot. Remember, the underbrush and grasses are dry and provide a fuel for the fires, which can spread quickly and get out of control. This happens more than you are aware. Please follow the ordinance when burning. Those who burn are responsible for any damage to other’s properties and belongings. Our Website, [www.stfd3.com], posts the STP burn ordinance for your convenience. Look under “FAQs” for a posting of the ordinance and play it safe. Even after a rain, the heat and winds will dry out the underbrush, grasses, etc., rather quickly and provide a fuel for a fire even when you notice the mud is still wet. Enjoy your summer!
